Jay P. Schiesser

Principal

Mr. Schiesser has specialized in commercial real estate investment advisory and capital markets for over 25 years. As a Principal of JP Partners, Mr. Schiesser has worked on diverse transactions with major assets types including multifamily, industrial, office, retail, hospitality and for-sale residential as well as special use assets including infrastructure, self-storage, parking, healthcare, restaurants, golf courses, marinas and automotive retail. Mr. Schiesser has executed over $4.0 billion of transactions including acquisitions, dispositions and finance.

Prior to founding JP Partners, Mr. Schiesser was an original member and partner of Patriot Capital, a boutique real estate investment banking firm. Mr. Schiesser originated, negotiated and closed over $1.2 billion in transactions. Mr. Schiesser was also a member of Credit Suisse First Boston in the Investment Banking Division.

Prior to CSFB, Mr. Schiesser was a member of Fitch Ratings in the CMBS Group. Mr. Schiesser’s primary responsibilities included derivation of CMBS bond subordination levels for floating and fixed-rate transactions. Mr. Schiesser was a member of KPMG LLP in the Valuation Group. He was responsible for advisory and valuation of real estate, M&E and intangible assets for corporate transactions and taxation.

Mr. Schiesser earned a Master of Science in Real Estate Law from John Marshall Law School and a Bachelor of Science in Real Estate Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Commerce College.

Matthew L. Williams

Principal

Mr. Williams has a history in Real Estate Advisory including over 16 years experience in equity, debt placement and asset management. As a Principal of JP Partners, Mr. Williams has worked on transactions in diverse industries with major assets types including industrial, office, retail, hospitality and residential as well as special use assets types including golf courses, marinas, self-storage, healthcare, restaurants and automotive. Mr. Williams has significant asset management and transaction syndication experience which he leverages to assist clients in thorough underwriting and successful execution. Mr. Williams has restructured over $150MM in sub-performing, real estate debt acquisitions for the firm’s private equity clients.

Prior to joining JP Partners Mr. Williams was a Senior Financial Analyst for the Laramar Group, a real estate private equity firm that specialized in the acquisition and of multifamily real estate and distressed debt. During his tenure, he was directly involved with the sourcing, investment analysis, due diligence and acquisition of $135MM in assets, and the management of the $350MM portfolio. Prior to the Laramar Group, Mr. Williams worked for Inland Real Estate where he was responsible for syndicating real estate for 1031 tax deferred exchanges. His duties included the financial analysis of potential acquisitions, coordinating the due diligence process, structuring real estate syndications, and the asset management of acquired retail and office properties.

Mr. Williams earned a Masters Degree in Real Estate from University of Illinois, Chicago’s Liautaud Graduate School of Business and graduated from Kenyon College with degrees in Art History and Political Science.
